Welcome to the FHS Art Department!

Logo Designer: Chris Logan, FHS Class of 2007
Course: Mrs. Ziegler, Graphic Design I

The FHS Art Department offers students opportunities to express their ideas, feelings, and personal experiences through the visual arts. By emphasizing the observational, analytical and interpretive skills necessary for creating art, students develop the ability to look at their own work with a critical eye and gain understanding of the role of art in our culture and through-out history.

The FHS Art Department's class offerings include 18 electives. Most courses are offered at both the College Preparatory (CP) and Honors (H) levels. Please see the 2007-08 Program of Studies for more details.

News:

Welcome 2008-09 FHS Art Students!

Check out the FHS Art Department's new Sculpture Garden located in the courtyard between D-wing, G-wing, and H-wing. The creation of this garden was made possible thanks to Franklin Education Foundation Grant that was awarded to Ms. Jezierski. Students from Ms. J's Sculpture, Ceramics, and Advanced 3D classes designed, planned, and completed the Sculpture Garden over the course of the 2006-07 school year.

The Art Club continues to meet on Tuesdays after school in room G-140 with Ms. Ortmann.

The Empty Bowls Committee meetings continue on Tuesdays with Ms. Jezierski in room G-137. Please check the FHS Empty Bowls webpage for more detailed information:
