As a participant in the FHS Senior Project, students demonstrate responsibility and passion through the selection and care with which they determine the focus of their projects and job sites, as well as their completion of the various project objectives (from their written reflections and final paper to their 50 hours of professional experience).

Students will also increase their awareness of the necessary steps for achieving a set career, service, or artistic path and better understand the reality of that experience.  Furthermore, Senior Project provides students with the opportunity to apply their academic, social, and civic skills developed throughout the course of their experiences at FHS and realize connection between their high school education and future careers.

Finally, since students direct their own experiences, they keep themselves engaged and participate in a meaningful academic, professional, and personal experience that may ultimately shape the course of their futures. The student is required to present a proposal for a senior project by the end of his/her junior year which will be reviewed by a panel who will determine if the project has the potential to be completed successfully.  During third term, students will be enrolled in a preparatory course and then commence their 60 hour field study at the start of 4th term.

Please see a guidance counselor for details.
